Herpetological Collections w/ Kansas Specimens


The first specimen assignable to the political region that defines today, was collected in 1818. Since then, over 94,230 specimens have been cataloged in 92 different collections. These biological collections contribute to society and science in many ways; including public health and safety, serving as a baseline in perpetuity for monitoring environmental change, and are fundemental in taxonomy and systematics.
